The Fowler Legacy Foundation is a community foundation that connects people with community needs, enables philanthropy to provide funds for improving life in Fowler, and provides leadership on issues important to the community..
Each year the Legacy Foundation supports worthy projects in Fowler with earnings from the Foundation's permanent endowment. Earnings are distributed through grant applications from local non-profit organizations.
Our Beginnings
The Fowler Legacy Foundation was established in November 2002 in response to outreach from the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas. Our endowed fund began with a $1,000 seed grant from CFSK. It has now grown to over $150,000, allowing us to increase grants to our community each year.
Always Growing!
Our endowed fund grows from FLF Coffee sales, annual Christmas poinsettia sales, and our annual Giving of the Green fundraiser, an evening of food and entertainment supported by area business sponsors. Funds raised at the event are matched by the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas. All fundraising depends heavily on the volunteer help of community members, the "Green Team."
